In 1996, a small group of family farmers got together and opened The Woodland Farmer's Market in the parking lot of the County Fair Mall. But after 11 years at this location, with the support of many city agencies, The Woodland Farmers Market moved to the shady, family friendly Freeman Park on Main St. between 4th and 6th streets. This new location features a big white gazebo for performances, a playground perfect for kids and plenty of nearby street parking.
Times are changing and so is the Woodland Farmers Market. In 2011, we will be splitting the locations of the market to serve more of our customers. Our Tuesday market will be relocated to Woodland Healthcare in front of the Surgery Center facility on Cottonwood Street. With the support of the Woodland Healthcare Foundation, our Tuesday market will have the opportunity to grow into the best local market around! The Saturday market will remain at Freeman Park. The Woodland Farmers Market is a summer season only market and features only the highest quality, locally grown produce. In addition to gorgeous fruits and vegetables, the market offers fresh eggs, artisan breads, handcrafts, entertainment and more. All items are very reasonably priced and in many cases, offer shoppers big savings. The Woodland Farmers Market also accepts WIC program vouchers and EBT (Food Stamps).
The Woodland Farmer's Market is the hub of community where you can meet new friends, say hello to old ones, and take part in fun activities for the whole family. The Woodland Farmers Market is only for the summer season- so don't miss out on the fun and come support your local farmers.
